Nenko Nenkov – Chairman of the Board of Directors
Nenko Nenkov (born 1962) graduated from Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, Varna, majoring Naval Navigation. From 1987 to 1989, he used to serve as third officer at Ocean Fishing Ltd., Burgas. Since 1989, Nenko Nenkov has devoted his professional work exclusively to agribusiness, establishing his first company with significant export activities operating with grain and livestock.
During 1991-1996, Nenko Nenkov ran a representative office in Washington, USA. Since 1995, he has been creating, building and managing a vast network of companies active in the agricultural produce market – Bulagro, GIFTA and others. In 2001 he became the major shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Gifta AD. In June 2007 upon establishment of BG Agro AD, Gifta AD was restructured and the agribusiness was set at BG Agro AD and its subsidiaries.
Nenko Nenkov holds the 2003 Agribusiness Businessman of the Year Award, Award for major contribution to the maritime business for 2003 and Award of the Bulgarian Maritime Chamber for personal contribution to the development of the Bulgarian Maritime Economy for 2012. Nenko Nenkov is a member of the board of directors of the Family Business Network – Bulgaria.
Ivaylo Nenkov – Member of the Board of Directors
Ivaylo Nenkov (born 1993) graduated from Regent’s University, London, England, with a bachelors degree in “International Business with Spanish and Italian”, which included a semester in both Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, Italy and Universidad San Pablo CEU, Madrid, Spain, studying in the respective languages. He started his career in the business through internships in different parts of the company in 2009 and after graduating he started working for the company full-time in 2017. During 2020 he was chosen as vice-president of the NextGen chapter of FBN Bulgaria. He speaks Bulgarian, English, Spanish, Italian and Russian.
Daniela Atanasova – Member of the Board of Directors
Daniela Atanasova (born 1967) graduated with a Master’s degree from the Technical University of Varna and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Economics in Varna, majoring in Accounting and Control. She earned a postgraduate qualification in Human Resources Management from the University of Economics, Varna, postgraduate qualification in Corporate Management under the Open University Program at New Bulgarian University, Internal Audit Certificate, IAS Certificate. She has 14 years of banking experience, mainly in risk management and 14 years of experience as a CFO in the development of financial control systems, financial analysis, risk assessment, investment project evaluation and corporate business development.
Daniela Atanasova is fluent in English and German.
BG AGRO AD is represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Nenko Nenkov.
